ABOUT RHF

Ruff House Fitness is a community working together to empower each other and reach our fitness goals.   Ruff House Fitness is the product of Alicia’s dream of owning a boxing gym and Amy’s dream of opening a fitness studio. After years of training, competing and late-night discussions these dreams have finally become a reality. Ruff House Fitness is a small group fitness studio comprised of strength training, HIIT, RHF Spin and boxing classes that are designed to challenge your body and mind, while having fun at the same time. Here at Ruff House Fitness we want everyone to find the best version of themselves. We welcome people from all walks of life at any stage of their fitness journey from beginner to conditioned athlete.

 

CLASSES

We have a variety of classes

Boxing, RHF Spin, Strength Boot Camp and HIIT

 

BOXING

This is a 45 minute non-contact boxing workout that entails heavy bag work combined with cardio and strength exercises to give you the ultimate experience of a boxer’s workout.  You will learn boxing combinations along with defense mechanisms to make you stronger and more empowered. *Gloves and wraps are required for this class.

RHF SPIN

This is a 45 minute indoor cycle class that incorporates both cardio and toning through the use of small hand weights. This class will get you pumped up and sweating through the combination of upbeat music, fun lights and Keiser M3i bikes.

STRENGTH BOOTCAMP

 This is a 45 minute strength training class that will incorporate the use of a variety of weighted equipment to strengthen and tone your body.

HIIT

This is a 30 minute class that packs a big punch in a short amount of time. This class will get your heart rate pumping and your entire body engaged through quick high intensity movements. These classes are meant to be intense and challenging but modifications will be provided for those who need them.

ALICIA "LEESH" PIKE

Hi – I’m Alicia Pike. I’m an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with a specialty in Sports Performance and a Masters in Sport Management. I am also an amateur boxer with over 8 years of group and personal training experience.  Over the years, I’ve taught everything from barre, spin, strength training, TRX, HIIT and boxing.  I love high intensity workouts, especially boxing, and I’m excited to be able to share that love and passion with my Ruff House Fitness members.
My approach to fitness is that the prize is in the process.  I believe in that so firmly that I’ve got it tattooed on my arm!  Fitness is a journey.  It should be something you enjoy, but that also challenges you.  It takes time to reach goals, but the beautiful part of that is what you accomplish along the way – the successes that make you more confident, the failures that make you work even harder, the friendships you make, and the mental/physical challenges that push you to be the best version of yourself – whatever that may be.
In my classes, you’ll work hard, but you’ll have a lot of fun along the way & I just can’t wait to meet you to help you get to where you want to be!

AMY PIKE

Hi – I’m Amy Pike. I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with a specialty in Fitness Nutrition. I am a lifelong athlete with years of experience both coaching and competing in sports. I have a true passion for fitness and want to share that passion with all of you. There are many reasons why people choose to exercise. Whether you want to improve your sport performance, reduce health risks, or look and feel better I can help you achieve your goals. I am here to help motivate you to execute those fitness goals using a variety of equipment and exercises to help keep your workouts fun and exciting. You will work hard in my sessions but also have fun doing so. Hope to meet you at Ruff House Fitness soon.

ERIN BURTNYK

Hi!  I'm Erin Burtnyk. I am a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist based out of Worcester, MA with a lifelong passion for nutrition and fitness. I am devoted to teaching others a realistic, sustainable approach to food and nutrition that supports a healthy, active lifestyle.  My goal is to help people foster a healthy relationship with food by learning to incorporate the foods they love.  As a mom of two kids under 5, I understand that life can be crazy and unpredictable, and I am passionate about finding ways to include self-care through nutrition without sacrificing time with my family.  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition with a minor in Psychology from UMass Amherst. I currently teach health education at Shrewsbury High School, where I have the opportunity to share my passion and enthusiasm for health and wellness to the school community. I am incredibly excited to work with Ruff House Fitness sharing the latest, evidence-based nutrition advice and support!

Are you ready to make a change, but aren’t sure where to start? This program provides individualized guidance by a credentialed professional to help you learn how to navigate the nutrition world, how to understand if advice or recommendations are justified and evidence-based and help coach you to reach your nutrition goals.

NUTRITION RESET

Do you feel like you are on the right track for healthful eating, but could use some more direction?  This program will look at your relationship with food and your nutrition goals to help guide you in the right direction towards wellness.  We will review your meals, snacks and lifestyle and then set small, sustainable goals to guide you on your path to wellness.

SPORTS PERFORMANCE

Are you an athlete looking to improve performance?  We’ll talk about sport-specific nutrition needs, like timing for pre and post workout consumption, food sources, and meal/snack recipes and ideas to help you reach your peak performance.
